How much will it cost and what will I save?
*

The cost of your solar system depends on the amount of hot water you need, the type of collectors you use, and if you install a new high-efficiency water cylinder.

Solar panels can provide a significant proportion of domestic hot water requirements, saving between 50 and 60% of the annual water heating bill. The panels are most effective between the months of May and September and work even on a cloudy day. You can save more energy (and therefore money) by running your washing machine and dishwasher with solar-heated water; most of the power used by these appliances is used to heat the water. If you have a swimming pool, why not use solar energy to heat your pool water? We can advise on the best solar setup for your pool allowing you to save even more on your heating bills.

From an environmental perspective, the manufacturing process should be considered and offset against the savings made from using the panels. The carbon used during the production of Viessmann solar panels is recovered in 3 years with each domestic hot water system installed in the UK saving between 350 - 1,300Kg of carbon dioxide a year. The exact savings made depend on the efficiency of the system (and the system it replaces), but if every house in the UK used solar energy about 40 million MegaWatt Hours could be saved.

Solar panels should be considered a long-term investment and to protect this you should purchase good quality panels. Fitting a DHW solar system to your home will almost certainly increas the value of your property, especially in these days of rising fuel costs. The thermal output of Viessmann solar collectors remains high for over 20 years, protecting your investment in this technology.

Our sales team can advise on the options available - for example should you choose flat panel collectors or vacuum tube collectors - and provide you with a quotation for your requirements.
